Like the Haz-Mat team, members of the Northampton Fire Department are also part of the Department of Fire Services Special Operations Unit. This team of officers and firefighters from across the state are able to respond to large incidents with one of two Incident Support Units located throughout the state and a Rehab unit. The ISU is a large, self contained command post that is able to support large scale incidents with incident logging, radio and telephone communications, video monitoring, conference room and much more. The rehab unit is a heated / air conditioned truck, equipped with seats, water, food and medical supplies to aid firefighters at large incidents. Equipment and Fleet Maintenance (Repair Division)

The repair division, located at HQ is where the mechanic maintains and fixes the fleet of apparatus and vehicles within the Northampton Fire Department. The mechanic is also responsible for all equipment such as hose, tools, gear and air packs. Snow plowing of both stations as well as the Northampton Police Department is done by the mechanic. Although not a firefighter, the mechanic does respond to all large incidents as a support unit, bringing rehab supplies, fuel, and extra air tanks. The repair division has a fully equipped repair truck to fix apparatus on scene or at the other station. Some of the equipment on that truck includes a generator, air compressor, hand tools, diesel tank and pump.
